Move better
Pilates is a system of movement and exercise incorporating eastern and western philosophies of physical and mental conditioning. It is designed to educate, re-pattern and realign your body allowing it to move with greater ease and efficiency. It has long been a favourite conditioning method for dancers, athletes, and performers because it promotes maximum strength while increasing flexibility, coordination and stamina. The movements are also designed to facilitate proper breathing and to stimulate and improve circulation. Pilates is also extensively used for rehabilitation after surgery or injury. |

Build your core…
Pilates will help you to develop a strong core to support and decompress your spine, and will teach you how to initiate and integrate movement from your centre. As your body realigns and reorganizes itself movements become more graceful and efficient. As a result you will notice a leaner, more streamlined body as muscles are lengthened and strengthened and joint structures are brought into balance.
… and see the results on the outside
Pilates will also help you eliminate poor postural habits, decompress your joints and consequently provide relief from neck, back, and joint pain as well as excess muscular tension. The emphasis on strengthening the deeper abdominal muscles will also give you a flatter, tighter tummy! |

Just as Joseph Pilates would say
At Club Stretch we believe in promoting Joseph Pilates's definition of physical fitness: "the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind, fully capable of naturally, easily, and satisfactorily performing our many and varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure.”
